Decking Oil – Natural
Decking Oil is a ready‐to‐use nourishing oil that feeds wood and restores the natural oils lost through weathering.
Benefits:
- Nourishes wood replacing natural oils.
- Resistant to UV light.
- Prevents mould and algae build up.
- Waterproofs preventing water ingress.
- Leaves a natural looking finish.
- Ready to use.
- For all types of garden decking.
Uses: DECKING OIL provides your deck with a natural looking protection by replacing natural oils in the wood. It provides a protective barrier against water penetration where constant weathering can cause swelling and warping. Suitable for use on untreated, previously oiled or weathered decking.
Preparation:
New Decking: The timber should be allowed to weather for a minimum of 6 months before using DECKING OIL. Splash some drops of water onto the wood, if water sits on the surface in beads, then the decking does not require deck oil.
Old Decking: Use DECKING CLEANER to remove any dirt, grease, oil, mildew and other contaminants. Remove any loose or flaking material.
Application: Ensure that the decking is dry. Do not apply in wet conditions or if rain is imminent. Shake can thoroughly before use. Always test a small inconspicuous area prior to full application. Apply a flood coat using a good quality brush or roller. Apply a second coat once the first coat is dry (approx. 6 hours). Leave 24 hours before subjecting to foot traffic.
Clean Up: Clean brushes thoroughly in WHITE SPIRIT after use.
Note: Not for use on new wood DECKING OIL should only be used to restore and treat weathered timber.
