DryFix Asbestos Epoxy Sealer
DryFix Asbestos Cement Sealer is a two-part epoxy resin especially developed for sealing asbestos cement sheeting both flat and corrugated. It is suitable for application in both dry or wet conditions. To provide a sealed, dust free, strength enhanced asbestos sheet.
USES: It will provide outstanding performance protection in its own right to asbestos cement sheeting but also will provide an excellent sealed/primed base for any subsequent treatment to adhere to. It can be applied in both dry or wet conditions. This sealer is water miscible and can be applied in wet conditions.
PREPARATION: Surfaces must be clean, sound and free from grease, oil and other forms of surface or impregnated contamination. Repair fill cracks with Epoxy Filler and deep holes and wide cracks with Epoxy Mortar Lightweight. Use Tack Primer VG for the Epoxy Mortar Lightweight.
MIXING: Wear Personal Protective Equipment, protective eye glasses and impervious gloves. Empty the entire contents of Pack B (Hardener) into Pack A (Resin) and stir using a mixing paddle in an electric drill on a slow speed for 3 minutes. Ensure you reach the sides and bottom of the container during the mixing process. Having mixed thoroughly use all within 40 minutes. At this stage you can add up to 10l cold water to ease application for airless spray equipment.
APPLICATION: Roller Application: Pour into a deep paint scuttle and apply with a large paint roller. First paint around the permanent fixtures to avoid the roller from hitting these areas. Airless Spray: This product can be spray applied. Having mixed the two components together thoroughly, you can dilute the mix with up to 10% cold water. Two coats are normally required for maximum resistance. For best results apply the second application when the first coat is touch dry or within 7 days. Apply thinly. Do not apply too thick and do not allow any puddles to appear.
COVERAGE: 4.5 Litres will cover up to 25 square metres depending upon the site conditions that prevail, i.e., the porosity, texture and temperature of the asbestos.
POT LIFE: When fully mixed, approximately 40 minutes @ 20º C. Extended pot life at lower temperatures, reduced at high temperatures.
CURING /HARDENING TIME: Tack free – 12 hours @ 20ºC. Full cure – 7 days. Do not use at freezing temperatures.
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE: Resistant to spillages of most chemicals commonly met within industry.
