DEXA HR Continuous Running Alternate Flow Heat Recovery Fan
DEXA HR Continuous Running Alternate Flow Heat Recovery Fan is a continuously running, low energy, ultra quiet, alternate flow supply and extract fan with heat retention for use in habitable areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, basements and hallways. The unit helps a room “breathe” and reduces indoor air pollutants and humidity levels.
The unit is ideal for tackling problems associated with condensation dampness such as mould growth. The unit is not designed for use in ‘wet areas’ such as bathrooms or kitchens.
Every 70 seconds the unit alternates between supply and extract fan modes. When in extract mode the unit’s high efficiency ceramic heat exchanger collects and retains heat from the extracted air. The majority of this heat is then transferred to the incoming air during supply mode.
This method of operation avoids the short circuiting of air that can often happen with conventional single room heat recovery units, resulting in much more effective room ventilation.
Units can also be set to work in harmony with each other e.g. when a unit in one room is extracting air another unit in another room can be set to supply air. This can greatly enhance cross ventilation and ventilation effectiveness in a home.
The technical team at Alliance Remedial Supplies feel the main benefits to the DEXA HR100 Continuous Running Alternate Flow Heat Recovery Fan are its neat and discreet internal panel. It’s ultra low running sound which we can vouch is imperceptible. The ease of installation with no requirement to install a separate humidity sensor box and its annual running cost of only £3.15 a year*.
However, its limitations are; it cannot be ducted more than a meter away and no bends can be introduced. Not suitable for bigger volume areas such as Kitchen/Dining rooms or wet rooms such as bathrooms and utility rooms.
The DEXA HR 100 is ideal for small to mid size bedrooms and living rooms with a cubic volume of up to 40m³ which typically would be a footprint of around 4.5mtrs x 4mtrs with a ceiling height of 2.2mtrs. If you want to ventilate a room with a bigger footprint we recommend theDEXA HR-150 which will ventilate up to 70m³.
If you install two fans in one property we recommend the installation of a Controller to select on/off, speed selection and extract or supply modes.
* Running costs based on UK Price Cap (July 2023) with the HR 100 running at speed 1, 3l/s.

Just installed in a very cold, damp, single-skin brick porch which gets mouldy. Good installation instructions and the fan seems to be working well, and quietly. Much cheaper than leaving a heater on all winter, and having a cold but dry area as extra food storage space is really useful.

Hi Penny,
Thanks for your review reference the Elta Fan. These fans are of great build quality and are pretty quiet in operation.
Hoping the fans solves your problem.
Many Thanks
From the Alliance Team

I just installed one of these in the lounge/kitchen and it is working well, it is quiet and it looks much better then the previous one which looked like a big, old wooden box radio. I bought the switch too and it was a little annoying as I had to replace the electrical box that was already in the wall with the one that came with the switch because the distance between the two holes that attaches the switch to the box is slightly bigger but, apart from that everything was good and not difficult to follow instructions for installing it. I am happy with the fan and I hope it is going to last. I just purchased a second unit for the bedroom (November 2019) and if anyone needs a quiet ventilation I would recommend it.

Bought 2 of these. One for upstairs and the other for downstairs. I have a one bed maisonette and have one supplying and the other extracting. Will have to wait untill bad weather comes to fully test for condensation but they are very quiet and look good on the wall. Fitted both through controller switch
