Newton 410 Geodrain Geotextile Cavity Membrane 25m2 is an externally applied, 2 part geotextile waterproofing membrane.

It protects a structure below ground level from ground water ingress and contaminants within the soil.

Newton 410 Geodrain Geotextile Cavity Membrane is supplied in a smaller roll dimension than most other brands in the market meaning it is an ideal product for small scale projects resulting in less plastics waste.

We recommend a fillet detail which can be a specialist sealant adhesive or as simple as sand and cement 3: 1 with SBR 1: 1 with water is trowelled into the wall/slab joint if Newton Waterbars have not been installed.  A bitumen or polymer based Primer is applied to the structure before the 410 Geodrain is fixed to act as a primary waterproofing barrier.

To prevent rubble and soil from falling behind the membrane Newton Capping profiles are fixed into place.

Newton 410 is fixed and hung to the walls of the structure and dressed down to a land drain which should have a suitable filter surround. The land drain collects ground water and takes it to a suitably located soakaway or sump.

This installation procedure is compliant with a Type A installation in accordance with BS8102 however, we highly recommend that where possible and the project allows, that all Type A systems are supported as a combined installation with either a Type B or Type C back-up installations as BS 8102 refers for the need to factor in how a waterproofing system can be repaired or fixed in the event of failure. In respect of a Type A system, it is very difficult to effect cost effective and thorough repairs.
